Moody

Moody
CHIC Management will be turning two this month and has decided to celebrate with a shopping event featuring 150 Second Life designers.  Really… is there a much better way to celebrate?  One designer who will be featured at the ‘party’ is coldLogic.  Moody is an event exclusive and will only be available at CHIC2 for the duration of the event; afterwards, you will be able to pick it up at coldLogic.  The adorable summer dress is available in three textures and comes in standard sizing.  I really love how fun and girly this design is; it is a piece you can dress up or dress down to something more casual.  A perfect piece for my inventory.  The event opens June 3 at 4 pm SLT.  Mark your calendars!

MOH2

MOH2

I’ve spent most of my online time this week in a male avatar’s body photographing all the goodness from the Men Only Hunt 2.  It has been a bit odd to log in and see Lashae as a man, but if I do say so myself, he is a pretty good looking man!  I didn’t want to list what my personal favorites from the hunt were in the coverage post; so, I thought that it would be nice if I threw an outfit of my favorites together and do a post here since I have been absent from the personal post scene for a bit.

If I was a man in real life, I could completely see me wearing something like this.  Actually, I could see myself dressing my husband like this!  The top is a mesh hunt gift from BUID; I had never been to this store before and was pleasantly surprised to see some women’s fashion along with men’s and a lot of tattoos!  Four sizes of the top are included in the prize along with an alpha layer.

I took the jeans from the hunt gift from Rispetto Designs.  I’m familiar with this designer from his participation in Designer Showcase.  I had, however, never been to his main store since I obviously shop in women’s fashion 99.99% of the time.  Items are sold by outfits (top and bottom) in this shop and at a quite reasonable price.  Perhaps I will bring my husband’s avatar here!

The cute shoes I’m wearing were taken from the hunt gift from LaRosa, also another store I had never heard of before.  I assumed with the name of the store that I would probably find some clothing for women here as well, and I was correct!  Actually most of the products are designed for women, and the prices are extremely reasonable.  This store will be on my ‘must visit again’ list.

Of all the ridiculous amount of poses that I have, I really didn’t have many there were neutral enough for male posing as well.  That is when I opened up the gift from Expressive Poses and decided that I liked the gift enough to check out the other male poses the store had.  I picked up some male poses as well as some female poses during my visit.  Most of the poses in the MOH2 coverage post at Seraphim are form Expressive Poses; a few, however, are from -no wow-.

My shape and skin were also a freebie, but not a freebie that can be found in the hunt.  Each month, Filthy Skins places out a new group gift that contains both a male skin and shape and a female skin and shape.  The shape I’m wearing was the group gift from February and the skin is the gift for this month.  The group fee is typically 199L, but for a limited time you can join for free!

I’m On a Roll!

Stay

I decided that I probably shouldn’t put my next post on my weekend wear off for a week.  It’s a very dreary Saturday here, and there really isn’t a whole lot going on in world which gave me plenty of time for some snapshots. Hopefully I will be able to get caught up on my 52 Weeks of Color Challenge posts later today as well!

The shirt I’m featuring this week is from a little shop titled Siss Boom.  I first came across Lestat Reuven’s designs when I was working for Lemania Indigo as a model a few years ago.  Lestat’s store, then titled Wondrous Strange, was located on the same SIM and the two designers often shared models.  In all honesty, I was a little intimidated by Lestat at first; she has a very strong personality, but as I learned more about her I realized what a sweetheart she truly is and extremely value the true friendship we have developed.  Over the past two years, I have watched her skill in creating virtual clothing grow, and her style perfectly matches mine as it is dressy casual.  As a mesh addict, I was ecstatic when Siss Boom took on the challenge and started releasing the liquid pieces.  The White Linen Halter Burlap features an undershirt with a sheer shirt over top.  A free demo is available and five sizes are included with the purchase; three other colors are also available just in case you aren’t a pink freak like me!

24 Hours Isn’t Enough

Snuggly

You would think that 24 hours would be plenty of time to complete everything that needs to be done in a day, but that reality never seems to exist for me.  I meant to get this up at the very latest on Sunday since I promised to showcase all the outfits I use in my Seraphim posts on Backstage.  I guess it just wasn’t meant to be!  Hopefully summer gets here soon!  I am a high school teacher in real life, and I look forward to the two months I get to sleep in on a daily basis.  If only I could teach from home… that would be the dream!

The top I’m wearing is from a relatively new store titled Eclectic Apparel which exclusively features mesh items.  If you have checked out my personal fashion blog… or just paid attention to what I tend to wear on Seraphim… you probably already know how much I adore mesh.  It truly is a photographer’s/blogger’s dream come true.  I used to spend so much time adjusting prim pieces, but that is all over now that my clothing can move with my avatar.  Eclectic Apparel participated in the recent Wear Gray event which is still open through Sunday; the designer has a couple really reasonably priced items up for charity.  The top I am wearing is titled Snuggly Sweater, and it’s design really holds up to its name.  I love how the sleeves slightly cover the hands.  My real life hands freeze during the winter, and I love having something to cover them up with.  I also love wearing sweaters with shorts or capris in the Spring.  My mother never understood this when I was a teen, but honestly… my legs don’t get nearly as cold as my upper body!  I guess my moto was to only use extra coverage where needed.  If you like the design, the sweater is available in sixteen yummy colors.

The skin I’m wearing is a recent design from Filthy Skins.  I first came across this designer at a discount shop and fell in love with her work.  Since then, she has continued to increase her skill, and I am always more impressed with each new release.  Melody is available in four tones with eight makeups each and cleavage/no cleavage options.  The tone I am wearing is Cream.  I’m very pale in real life; so, I suppose the lightest color is fitting!

Isn’t my pose adorable?  I absolutely love, love, love aDORKable Poses, and the one I used is a current Pose Fair 2012 exclusive.  Not only do I love aDORKable because of the well made poses, but I love the fact that the designer adds mirror poses to every pack.  It is so frustrating to find the perfect pose in the wrong direction, but you never have to worry about that with aDORKable’s poses.  The designer is offering a lot of other fantastic poses and pose props at the fair.  It is definitely worth checking out.

Where’d She Get That?

Where'd She Get That?

The most common question I get regarding my SeraphimSL posts would probably have to be where I got something I was wearing in one of my coverage posts.  I’ve thought about putting a ‘credits’ at the bottom of each of my posts, but Seraphim isn’t really about what I’m wearing.  The backstage idea is a wonderful way that we can share all the goodness we find across the grid even when it isn’t in a sale or an event.  Most of my posts here will contain all the info on what I was wearing in my posts at Seraphim.  If you like my style and want to see more of it, please feel free to visit my personal fashion blog.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I tend to like dressing a bit modestly.  That honestly is a reflection of the real life me.  At the same time, I do really love the classy casual look… even when I’m wearing jean shorts and a tank!  The shirt I’m wearing is one of those ‘go to’ tops when you need something that is pretty but blends well enough so that something else in the photo stands out more.  I’ve always loved the free Intrinsic Tanks by JANE and have used them loads of times, but I fell in love with this more girly tank, also by JANE, while shopping a few weeks ago.  The Femme Lace Cami features a very pretty band of lace at the neck and at the bottom of the shirt.  I have so many of these types of tops in my real life that I wear as undershirts on almost a daily basis.  The top is available in ten color packs at 50L each, or you can purchase the entire fatpack for 250L.

I was so excited when I saw these adorable shorts by Tres Blah in the March collection of Collabor88.  I think the longer length gives these shorts a much more casual feel to them than shorter shorts; also, the ‘worn’ look is beautifully designed on these shorts.  I know it may be a little weird, but I’ve always loved the frayed strings at the bottom of shorts.  It just gives them more character!  Two colors of these shorts are available for 88L each at Collabor88, but if you want them you better hurry… the collection changes in just a couple days!

The skin I’m wearing is honestly one of my favorite that I have in my inventory.  I’ve always loved the clothing from Izzie’s, but I was pleasantly surprised a few weeks ago to find that I love her skins, too!  This is coming from a girl who used to wear the same skin every day… Yeah, yeah… I know!  I think I probably wore the same skin in Second Life for at least a year or more.  The Brianna Skin comes in seven tones; each pack contains cleavage/no cleavage and freckles/no freckles options as well as ten tattoo eyeshadows, ten tattoo lipsticks, a nail base on the glove layer, an eyebrow shape and the modifiable Brianna shape.  So, how much is this going to cost you?  Izzie’s skin packs are actually very reasonably priced at 990L each!

All the poses used in the Hi5! Hunt post, except those gifts that were poses, are by Glitterati.  I really love the poses by this designer because they are so well made.  I hardly ever have my hands disappearing into my body, and the movement the poses imply is outstanding.  Lucky for you, Glitterati is having a 100L pose sale now through the end of Pose Fair 2012.  It’s a great opportunity to stock up on some really well made poses.
